Overview

Meraki & Co. Wedding & Event Styling ensures a cohesive design experience by offering a single point of contact for each wedding or event detail. From Save the Dates to Thank you cards, each detail will fit the client’s theme and vision to a T. Consistent typefaces and colors are carried through the entire process to make sure nothing feels out of place on our couples or families' perfect day! Meraki & Co. is committed to creating something unique for their client’s big day. After all, for a day so personal couples deserve something hundreds of couples haven’t used.

Meraki & Co. offers four main services with platinum, gold, and silver collections including various different pieces. If none of the collections are exactly what the client is looking for, they can choose the Meraki Experience, a completely custom a-la carte option. Services include:

  • Invitation Suites: Custom envelopes, invitation, insert, rsvp cards, pockets, ribbons, wax seals, and more.

  • Backdrops & Balloons: Custom painted wooden backdrop walls and custom balloon garlands complete with custom lettering.

  • Signage: From Welcome signs and seating charts to table numbers and signature drink signs and everything in between.

  • Day-of Details: Any other details you may need for your event from cocktail napkins to place cards complete with food choices.

This project explores how I helped to make the visions of multiple clients come to life through stationary design.

The Problem

When shopping for wedding details it is very rare to be able to find everything you need for your big day in one spot. This forces you to shop around with different vendors. Every different shop will offer different typefaces, different colors, and different artwork, making your wedding details feel disjointed.

The Objective:

To design events that flow seamlessly from start to finish, fitting together perfectly. Each piece should fit the client’s vision while remaining consistent throughout different pieces and services.

Consultation

We begin with a complimentary conversation with our client to answer any questions they may have and get an initial idea of their vision.

Questionnaire

Once the client is on board we send out a comprehensive questionnaire. Here we confirm everything with all the information we need to start designing. The questionnaire goes over everything from cardstock colors to wording choices.

Design Rounds

After the questionnaire is completed we move into the design phase. The initial design is sent over to our client and from there it is tweaked until it reflects their vision.

Production

When the client signs off on the design we move into the production phase where we send stationary to print, cut vinyl and acrylic lettering, and assemble every sign and suite piece. It’s ready to be displayed or sent out to friends and family.

Mollie & Chris

Mollie and Chris wanted an invitation suite that stood out from the crowd. Utilizing custom laser cuts and square cards we created a suite and matching signage that was truly one of a kind.

Natalee & Andrew

Natalee and Andrew wanted a classic, elegant look for their wedding details. They shifted from a colorful suite to a black and white look for their signage and details making their day pop.

Lauren & Chris

Lauren and Chris were having a destination wedding in Germany. For their suite and signage we blended English and German to accommodate the location and nod to Chris's German heritage. We created their invitation suite, signage (which they ended up printing themselves in Germany), and thank you cards after the fact.

Taylor & Tommy

Taylor and Tommy were looking for something that reflected their October wedding themes. Through burgundy florals, we created pieces that felt warm and welcoming just as the air started to get chilly.

Kara S.

Kara wanted us to run wild when creating for her daughter Kriby’s baby shower. Following an orange and pink color palette we put together a backdrop wall for photo-ops, a welcome sign, and stickers that could be used on custom thank you cards.

Meghan & Ross

Meghan and Ross needed classic but elegant signage for their wedding day. Using only black and white, the typography was the focal point of their signage. Their welcome sign greeted guests while their alphabetical seating chart guided guests right where they needed to be.

Neissa & Brendan

Neissa and Bredan were looking for an elegant look where neutrals really elevated their pieces. For them, we focused on signage. Using one of our backdrop walls and acrylic lettering to create a simple yet elevated statement piece. Smaller signs were created to be placed in frames as needed around the venue. After the fact, we created thank you cards featuring a wedding photos and special message for them to send out.

Julie & John

Julie and John came to Meraki for their signage and day of details. They wanted to go all out. We created everything from seating charts arranged by state to drink stirrers with their initials. We stuck to their wisteria color palette and incorporated personal details that made their details all the more special.

Reflecting

Working with Meraki & Co. gave me hands-on experience designing for real clients and real events in the wedding industry, where every detail contributes to a meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Through this work, I learned how to balance creativity with client expectations. I translate abstract ideas and inspiration into tangible final products that are consistent throughout a variety of different formats.

This experience strengthened my ability to:

  • Design and establish visual systems while maintaining individuality

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients

  • Adapt designs based on feedback and evolving client needs

  • Think beyond individual pieces and consider the full event experience

It also introduced me to the production side of design, giving me a deeper understanding of how digital designs translate into real-world applications. Instead of just designing for the screen, I was pushed to think about the best decisions for the printing process.

Overall, this internship helped broaden my horizons and reinforced my interest in the wedding industry. It showed me how thoughtful, cohesive visuals can elevate an event and create something truly memorable for clients and their guests.
